This Balmoral Edinburgh wedding video of Kerry & Donald was captured by Edinburgh wedding videographers, Butterfly Wedding Films on the 18th February 2017. Kerry & Donald wanted a wedding video filmed by two wedding videographers so opted for our Platinum Package.
Our reputation has grown because we try to treat each wedding as unique. For the wedding video edit we opted to use an acoustic track as performed an ‘Thinking out loud’ by Ed Sheeran song on the day by a close friend of theirs. It can be really nice when editing a two song wedding video to have a soft-slow one before the wedding ceremony, and a more upbeat one after the wedding ceremony – so we opted for Darius Rucker’s ‘Wagon Wheel’. Our film begins at Kerry’s mum and dad’s home in Morningside, Edinburgh and while the boys ‘prepared’ themselves at the Cafe Royal bar in Edinburgh city centre, a short walk from the Balmoral Hotel.
As is standard practice with most of our wedding film we filmed the Balmoral wedding ceremony with three cameras and 2 radio microphones – one one the groom, and one on the celebrant. While getting good wedding video shots can be straight forward, getting good audio can be deceptively tricky. Getting good wedding supplier information before the day is crucial, but in this instance we were well aware that thier close friend would be singing so we also took the precaution of getting a videography microphone on her. Most of our microphones can be adjusted remotely so it means no trailing cables and we have the ability to adjust each of the audio levels. All together it can add up for a far more dynamic wedding film rich with audio.
Following the wedding ceremony we worked together with Crofts and Kowalczykon the photohoot on the Balmoral rooftop overlooking Princes’ Street gardens. From the Balmoral rooftop terrace it also boast stunning views to the Salisbury Crags. It was a wonderful day, and we were very thrilled to also be invited to Kerry’s brothers wedding later in the year.
