Dirleton Castle wedding – Christina & Alex

Christina and Alex’s Dirleton Castle wedding took place on Saturday 3rd September 2011. Christina looked radiant while Alex looked dashing in his Scottish Tartan. With over fifty guests from the U.S. and many more from around the globe, the love for this couple really shone on the day. International or otherwise, the flavour of the day was undoubtedly Ukrainian Scottish. The romantic ruins of Dirleton Castle remains a truly special setting, while the unreliable Scottish weather let up just long enough to brighten up the cavernous space. The day was peppered with other unique touches from the Ukrainian choir, a harpist and a Scottish bagpiper, Eastern European food and traditional dancing.

With passionate emotions bubbling up constantly they looked every bit in love and were a joy to capture on film. Falling in love is like being struck by lightning. You can no more make it strike you than you can avoid it – undeniably true for Christina and Alex. And so here we have the highlights of their special day spent together with family and friends, to have and share forever.

You can tell how important and enriching faith and family are to the couple, with each ritual filled with history and meaning. I’m sure you’ll agree the theatre of the whole service was so captivating.

There were two blessings before they traveled down the aisle together for the Ukrainian Catholic ceremony. During the ceremony itself, the couple took part in the tradition of the wearing of the crowns and the circumambulation รขโ‚ฌโ€œ where they walk around the table holding the candles. This ritual is to signify the centrality of God in the life of the new couple as their first steps are taken literally around the gospel, which is on the table.

For me the most magical ritual was the Ukrainian choir interacting with the two fathers throughout the ceremony. In the stone walled cellar where the service took place the echoing effect particularly spiritual.

We’d like to wish then the best of luck for your new life in Doha, lots of love, Butterfly Films! Don’t forget we do great international discounts ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, what did Alex & Christina & think of our approach:

‘The highlights reel looks absolutely fantastic. You have captured nearly every single special moment of our wedding day and put it together in this truly professional video narrative. The cinematography is tremendous – at points it feels like we are watching a Hollywood movie! Moreover, it is evident that you guys really put your best effort and tender care into creating this video, to the point that it seems like you were really enjoying yourselves in the process. We really could not have asked for better videographers. This is a video we will treasure forever, and we can’t wait to show it off to all our family and friends. None of them will be able to top this!’ Christina & Alex
