Destination Wedding Scotland

Destination Wedding Scotland – Brides the world over are drawn to the Scottish highlands for their dream wedding and we have filmed many wedding videos for couples who have travelled as far as as Canada, the US, New Zealand and Singapore.

Last week we were very proud to have partner up with Portuguese photographers NJ Mattos last week as a part of their ‘Love in…’ series.
During our brief – but adventurous – whistle -stop tour of the highlands we were accompanied by ten gorgeous brides and grooms.

Nuno and twin brother, João are NJ Mattos had a simple concept – photography sessions across Europe – in London, Venice the Swiss Alps and in our case 1500 miles away from home in the West Highlands of Scotland.

The 11 couples were split into 2 groups and in a day, with a convoy of cars we travelled from Stirling to Eilean Donan Castle (and then back to Fort William to bunk down for the night). We visited Stirling Bridge, Dunkeld Catherdral and Eilean Donan Castle before arriving at Forth William. This jounrey had us pass Perth, Blair Castle, the Dalwhinnie Distillery and some of the most spectacular scenery I’ve see in Scotland.

Our first stop was at Old Stirling Bridge, which lies downstream from its even older and more famous ancestor – where in 1297 William Wallace’s men defeated the English troops as they attempted to cross.

Dunkeld Catherdral was our 2nd stop. The 1400 year old catherdral dates from the time when Celtic monks set up a base for mission where the River Braan joins the River Tay. Since then it has seen many changes and turbulent times, eventually becoming the beautiful, peaceful place of worship it is today. Special thanks goes to to Church of scotland Reverend Penny there who kindly allowed the photos to take place.

We passed the spooky Glen Shiel on the way to our final stop, Eilean Donan Castle, on the Kyle Of Lochalsh is situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it remains one of the most iconic images of Scotland. Eilean Donan is situated on the main tourist route to the Isle of Skye and is recognised all around the world.

The following day the plan was to travel back via Glen Coe, and the journey along the A82 and the pass of Glencoe was stunning, and I was very happy to capture Buachaille Etive Mora very recognisable Scottish landmark at the start of the pass of Glencoe. On account of a fatal road accident I travelled back to Oban, with this ‘extended tour’ taking me passed the stunning Loch Awe and quaint Callander.

The road trip was a blast, and I think the couples had a superb time in Scotland!
