Chinese Wedding Glasgow

Katherine and Kelvin’s traditional Chinese Wedding Glasgow took place three days after their white wedding at Edinburgh’s Prestonfield House.

Kat emerged from her limo looking super stylish in traditional Chinese dress at Kelvin’s parents house where they were presented with tea at a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. The ceremony formally introduces the bride to the groom’s family. The tea was prepared and presented respectful manner – using both hands to grasp the cup. The bride’s parents will pay for the tea set which is part of the dowry. Kat and Kelvin were required to serve tea whilst family members bestowed with gold jewellery by the family. Everyone was there, beginning with the parents and grandparents – even those joining us via a smartphone. Chinese tea ceremony is about art, elegance and harmony and they fared well – Kat’s chat in Cantonese (I think?!?) to Kelvin’s family even went down a storm.

Everyone walked the short distance to Airth Castle where the sun was shining and Kat and Kelvin modelled for a brief photoshoot. At Glasgow’s Chinatown Restaurant Kat and Kelvin entered to a shower of confetti provided by the bridemaids!

The Evening guests enjoyed excellent hospitality from their hosts where they were served a traditional Chinese Banquet and, of course, karaoke. Go Kat’s dad!
